In the group chat, tap the icons with members at the top, scroll down to the list of members/people and tap it. Then swipe the person you intend to remove to the left, and tap remove.
This will work with a group of 4 or more members. If there are just 3 people, this doesn‘t work. In that case, create a new group without that member, and delete the other group chat completely.
