Target launches new Wallet feature in iOS app.JPG

Target has today announced a new Wallet feature for its iOS app, which explains why it is still resisting taking Apple Pay payments in store, although you can pay with Apple Pay in the online Target store.

The new Wallet feature enables Target customers (or “guests,” as Target calls them) to pay and save at Target stores with their Target REDcard and Cartwheel, respectively, with just one scan of the phone app. Wallet helps to keep your organised by combining your digital savings, both Cartwheel offers and Weekly Ads coupons, with the 5 percent REDcard discount. Customers will also soon be able to store and redeem Target GiftCards via Wallet.

According to Target, another major benefit of Wallet is that it is up to four times faster than other payment types to use at the checkout.
“Wallet in the Target app makes checkout easier and faster than ever,” said Mike McNamara, Target’s chief information and digital officer. “Guests are going to love the convenience of having payment, Cartwheel offers, Weekly Ad coupons and GiftCards all in one place with Wallet.”
