Stuck in recovery with broken home button - iphone 3gs

Hi

I am completely stuck, my phone just went blank and would not reboot. I tried to restore it said was in recovery. As my home button does not work, my phone had activator so used another method as home. But all the utube videos did not seem to work. I am struggling with which firmware as it says the ones i have down loaded are not compatible. I have down loaded - redsnow, rveb, tiny umbrella and still no joy - either due to broken home button or incorrect firmware. Help please

Create a dfu restore with redsnow and restore in itunes. shift restore

Make sure you're downloading your IPSW from a NON-INTERNET EXPLORER browser. Downloading through IE will give you incompatibility issues or they won't find your IPSW. Anything to do with iOS upgrading, make sure you're in DFU, which is the real reason why it's called DFU mode, device firmware upgrade, used when upgrading
