Sent mail not in sent folder

When I send an email nothing ends up in the sent folder.
My wife iPhone is the same

I have a iPhone5 and my wife has an iPhone 5c

What e-mail service are you using? Is the e-mail left in a draft folder or still in the outbox folder? Do you have the service set up (online) to retain sent mail?

My provider is Optusnet. It's a IMAP. If I use my web mail facility the message is put into the sent box

So, to clarify a bit.....the recipient is receiving the mail, correct?

Did you go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>Optusnet>Advanced Then check all your settings there. Other than that, I am sorry I don't have any other ideas.

Hi,
I managed to work it out. I went into settings and mail then the account and advanced. I then set the send box to "Server". Then it worked.
