Sending SMS Text to My Email

I own an iPhone 15 pro and until recently, I used to be able to send pictures or messages to my gmail account as an sms text. Has something like an update changed that or have I just screwed something up which now prevents me from texting to my email address? If the latter is true, any idea what I can do to fix my miscue? Thanks.

I never texted my email address but I just tried it with one of my Gmail accounts to test for you and I was able to get the text message coming through on my email as well as a photo that I sent to my email address. Can you recreate the steps that you're doing? Also are you using an old text exchange that you had previously communicated with to your email address or did you start a new text thread?
