cannot send sms with my iphone4

Can anyone help?. After being able to send sms for the last year with my iphone4. After composing long text and try to send I get a minus sign next to it saying cannot send. Now I can't send any text. Is there a limit to the length of text that can be sent?

A standard SMS has a 160 character limit. However, when your msg goes over that limit... it splits the message into two or more parts and sends them seperately. What wireless provider are you on..... and is there anything you've added to your iPhone that could have caused this issue?

I live in Cyprus and use Primetel. The person I sent the joke to said that he only got half the joke. Since then all my text are ready to send except with the sign not able to send.
I did try to upgrade to the latest update but this did not happen for some reason or other.

That could be an issue with Primetel...lack of signal...?

Could this be the case even if I am able stream video, email, and speedtest at 8meg?
