When ever I get a call on my iPhone 6 plus. My iPad 3 rings can anyone please tell me how to stop that from happening? Thank you

Go to Settings - FaceTime, and turn off iPhone Mobile Calls.

This is part of a new feature of iOS called Continuity and is turned on by default when updating to iOS 8. This also applies to SMS text messages and iMessages. They're all turned off by following J. A.'s instructions.
