Recieved an iphone 4 from my brother's will

My brother passed away a year ago and just a couple months ago I started using it in school just as a mini laptop. It still has all of his settings (email accounts, itunes, etc), but I'd like to reset it all with my own stuff. How do I go about doing this?

Sorry to hear about your brother. If you make an appointment at an apple store and bring a copy of his death certificate and will showing he gave you the phone, they can probably get you set up.

May seem like a lot to go through but people steel iPhones and iPads all the time. You simply can't just wipe it clean without Apple being involved.

Can it be done over the phone? I'm in Wichita, KS and I'm pretty sure the closest apple store is 3 hours away in Kansas City.
