Iphone problem

I plugged in my brothers iphone 3gs to my laptop. My itunes account opened and downloaded the new IOS 5 to his phone. It then started to backup my brothers iphone but when i go into my itunes account his stuff isnt there and it has deleted them from his iphone. Can anyone help??

Yes it said extracting data from iphone.. i really need to try and find his stuff cos he had loads of personal family pics and videos...
