So I just got my brand new iPhone 4 a few weeks ago and quite quickly found this issue. I thought it was just off and it would fix itself or something with time but I realized its not good.
The proximity sensor works fine when I start a call. I'll call someone (or use sleep cycle which also uses the sensor) and put my thumb about a cm away and the screen goes black. But when I move my thumb away the screen doesn't come back on! I've tried this many times but it's always the same. After I'm done with a call I waited forever but nothing happened. I learned that I can pump the sleep/wake button about 5 times and it'll lock to the lock screen but the screen will come on for me to use my phone again.
Why is it not working?
