Hello,
When talking pics, are the volume buttons supposed to be on top or bottom? I’ve read it doesn’t matter. I’ve also read that if the volume buttons are on top, then the pics are displayed upside down in windows.

It doesn’t matter as far as the phone is concerned. You can place volume buttons on top or bottom, pic should be the same with buttons up or down. If they show up on your computer upside down, you can simply rotate them.
