According to a report from Taiwan, Apple could be interested to embed the Force Touch technology found on the Apple Watch into a 3D pressure sensor that could make it into the next iPhone.

Rumor has it that US-based Avago Technologies will become a sole component supplier for the new feature. In the past Avago worked on the Nintendo Wii's gesture sensing technology, so they've got good history.

The new iPhone display could use tiny electrodes to distinguish between a light tap and a deep press to trigger contextually specific controls. With the Apple Watch, this feature is really useful as the small display limits the amount of multi-touch inputs you can use.
