New phone - no power

I have a 1 week old iphone 4s which will not power on - will not connect to my laptop - on last use had 57% battery but suddenly cutoff and will not accept charge. Any ideas??

+1... if you're not getting it to power on or even connect to your computer it's definitely an issue that the place of purchase needs to handle.
