Never updated - 4.0, 01.59.00 - Can I do an untethered break today?

Jailbreaking is something I'd put off, look up and find I was always wanting to do during the wrong month of Apple's cat-mouse game.

I see we're currently looking at iOS 4.3.5, so did I miss the 4.3.3 window? I just want the perfect break that doesn't ruin whatever value is in an older baseband, and I don't know if I should upgrade or have a choice. I've never updated, assuming Apple would close something good. Please advise.

If you are on 4.0 with baseband 01.59 you can unlock to any carrier if you want/need and you can Jailbreak with JailbreakMe 3.0 just go to that site with safari and slide to jailbreak

now with regard to upgrading to 4.3.5 and the window for the 4.3.3 Un tethered jailbreak, you are to late because 4.3.4 and 4.3.5 is tethered jailbreak and seing as you wont have shsh blobs saved for 4.3.4 your only option would be to upgrade to 4.3.5 so if you upgrade you lose the chance to un tether jailbreak at least until 5.0 is released and with it a new jailbreak, so either stay on 4.0 or upgrade and lose the JB, personally I would upgrade because I love upgrading lol.

But if you rely on unlock you would need to upgrade while preserving the baseband and when you do so you damage your phone preserving the baseband.
