There are plenty of four-wheeled racing games in the App Store, but not quite so many motorbike racers, so Digital Tales, in partnership with Ducati, is out to redress that imbalance somewhat with the release of Ducati Challenge today. In the game, players get to ride the most powerful standard models in Ducatis my2011 line Monster 1100 EVO, Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP, Diavel Carbon, Multistrada 1200 S, Streetfighter S and Superbike 1198 SP as they zoom along fast race tracks, winding mountain roads, narrow medieval village streets, busy cities and scorching hot desert valleys.
The game features three different modes: Championship Mode, Quick Race and Multiplayer Mode. In Championship Mode, players test their skill against an increasing number of challenges across three difficulty settings, including qualifying rounds where they vie to get the best starting position on the grid. In Quick Race, they get to just jump on their ride and get straight on with the racing action, after first choosing the bike, track, number of laps and difficulty level. Finally, in Multiplayer Mode, the player can undertake challenges with up to three other riders over Wi-Fi.
Ducati Challenge boasts user-friendly controls for players of all abilities, with a customisable handling system which includes brake assist and steering sensitivity control based on tilting the device. Different graphic settings can also be chosen.
The game comes with full Game Center integration, including 25 unlockable achievements, as well as a leaderboard for each track. Theyve even thrown in 90 exclusive Ducati images that you can save on your iPhone or iPad, and you can also customise the soundtrack by using music from your own iTunes library.
