Skype is one of the most popular video and voice messengers in the world, with millions of users. A big chunk of its users' base comes from the iOS ecosystem, so that's why Microsoft is always interested in bringing new feature for them.

The most recent update comes with a few new features for iPhone and Apple Watch owners, as well. Here's how the changelog looks like:
  • See a preview of web pages when you share a link in chat (Rolling out over several weeks)
  • On Apple Watch mark all conversations as read using Force Touch
Microsoft also cites a couple of general Improvements but it didn't go into detail. But this is probably with regards to fixing bugs, so the app is now more stable.

Now, by making use of the most recent version, when you paste a URL into the chat window, the app will provide a preview of the website similar to how Facebook does that. The Skype app for Apple Watch owners now lets you reply using speech-to-text, start conversations with your favorite Skype contacts and manage incoming calls, as well.
