Skype for iPhone gets revamp.JPG

At the beginning of June, Microsoft previewed its updated Skype app for iOS, and now iDownload Blog reports that the update has finally been rolled out across the world, complete with lots of fun new features such as a re-designed interface, chat bots, a Snapchat-style Highlights feature, message and in-call reactions, and improved photo capture.

Aside from Cortana, new chat bots that are either available now or coming soon to the iPhone app are Gfycat, Giphy, MSN Weather, Bing, Polls, Expedia, Stubhub, BigOven, YouTube and Upworthy.

Using the new in-call reactions, you can now add live emoticons, text, and real-time photos to your video and voice calls. New message reactions also let you add expressions to your chat.

The new Highlights feature is similar to Snapchat’s stories, and lets you share your daily live with your friends and family via Skype via a sequence of photos and videos that can also be enhanced with added emojis and text. Only your Skype followers can see it.

These new features are currently only available in Skype for iPhone and not Skype for iPad, and will be coming to Skype for Mac and Windows in the next few months.
