Jailbreak Question

I have always wondered how do you upgrade a jailbreak i.e a jaibroken ios 4.3.3 ipad to a ios5 jailbreak. What will happen to the jailbroken apps? Are these the steps?

1. backup files via itunes
2. download and install new firmware via itunes
3. download jailbreak package ie limerain etc
4. complete normal jailbreak procedure
5. restore files from backup from step 1

end product --> jailbroken ios5 that has all the jailbroken apps intact?

Btw should i upgrade my iphone to 5.0.1 since the next jb will include 5.0.1?

Any time you restore or update you will lose your jailbreak and all your 3rd party apps. You can use a Cydia package like xbackup to backup your Cydia apps if you would like. Other than that ya, your list is pretty much the steps you would want to take.

At this point it would probably be best if you just waited for the untethered jailbreak to be released before updating since you will most likely have to restore again once it comes out anyway.

Nice! Too bad you wouldn't know it right now! It looks like April outside right now I've only gone snowboarding once this year and it was all fake snow lol
