Solution 1: Uninstall your USB port drivers and reboot your computer, then retry.

Solution 2: Uninstall both your USB port drivers and iTunes, reboot, reinstall iTunes and retry.

Solution 3: Create a new user on your computer and retry

Solution 4: Use a different computer, which almost always works for 160X errors

    1) Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
    2) Restore and wait for the error.
    3) When prompted than click OK.
    4) Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
    5) Now the device should be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    6) And finally try to restore again.
