Here's a little background: I was planning to update 4.0.1 to 4.3.2 using sn0wbreeze 2.6.1. So I did the making of custom firmware and also followed the on-screen instructions of iREB to go into DFU mode (yes, I did it correctly several times and the phone does have a black screen). The next step should be opening up iTunes which will automatically detect my phone in DFU (recovery mode) and then I'd be able to do the restore process.

Well that's where I'm stuck, iTunes doesn't detect the phone in DFU mode. I tried EVERYTHING: reinstalled iTunes (including mobile device helper), unplugged and plugged the data cable.... but nothing helped.

Note here that when I get back to normal running mode, iTunes detects my phone.

My system: Jailbroken iPhone 4 (firmware 4.0.1)
Windows XP SP3
Pentium 4 3.06 GHz, 512 MB RAM
iTunes 10.2.2
