I am curious to get more info on the benefits vs disadvantages of having Data Roaming on at all. I am almost positive when I bought my iPhone 4 last June it was ON by default, as well as Voice Roaming. I left it on, not understanding the implications of this setting (first smartphone for me).
So, now that I have learned about the traveling outside the US and the need to disable it....does it need to be enabled at all? I have Verizon service, btw. I do not do a ton of traveling, so I am mostly local in the Charlotte, NC area. I do occasionally travel up to VA, and MA, but that's about it.
Referencing this thread, I didn't get a clear answer about travel withing the US, I don't have a clue about cell provider's and towers in regards to roaming.
