iPhone4 Syncing Issue

I had downloaded some podcasts using WiFi and the "Get More Episodes.." feature. These episodes can not be removed from the phone after playing as is the case with all the other podcasts that were synced directly from iTunes on the computer. Tried all the setting on iTunes and can't find anything on the phone that would address the problem. Any suggestions??
