I’m sure that Apple expected many things to happen over the iPhone X’s first weekend of sales, but one thing that it possibly didn’t expect to happen is for Animoji Karaoke to become a thing, but according to MacRumors, that’s exactly what has happened.
Animoji are animated characters that take advantage of the iPhone X TrueDepth camera to mirror the user’s expressions. And of course, people have quickly discovered that there’s a lot of fun to be had recording Animoji clips, using iOS 11’s screen recording feature to bypass the iPhone X’s 10-second limit for Animoji videos. From this, Animoji Karaoke was created by tech reported Harry McCracken, who decided to lip-sync to songs using Animoji characters, and now it seems like everyone is doing it!
Some of the best Animoji clips to be seen currently on YouTube include Bohemian Rhapsody, Dance Like You Mean It, and The Lion Sleeps Tonight. If you feel like creating your own Animoji Karaoke video, simply play a song in the background loud enough so that the iPhone X microphone will be able to record it, at the same time as lip-syncing to the song. Then send the Animoji and first tap on the message, then on the iOS share sheet to save your new creation as a video.
