I have an iPhone 4 all upto date replaced last week
Been fine untill last few days I noticed signal was very weak
Untill to 99% of day it was no service
I then had a notication asking me to restore from iTunes as I can't make or receive calls
I backed up my mobile
And then hit restore
Phone when back to factory settings
Then I tries to restore from back up
It started with 30 mins
Then hour later it said 4hours
Later my pc told me ther was an error with backing up my device and to restore it again
So I did ....
Now every time I click restore
I get the iTunes notication pop up saying
iTunes
The iPhone could not be restored the device can not be found ....

Also on repluging it in
Notication reads
iTunes had detected an iPhone in recovery mode you must restore iPhone before you can use it
Grrrr help!!!

1.) Try to free space on your computer HHD to at least have 20gb of free space, that will speed up the backup restore.
2.) update your iTunes software if you haven't done that.
3.) Try to defragment your HDD and to check for error on it.
4.) reboot your computer and try restoring the iOS again.
If that doesn't work, try restoring your iOS on another computer.

That's not enough space, backup restore might stuck in the process for sure specially if your backup file size is equal or bigger than the free space you have on your HHD.
updating iTunes will not affect your backup file.
It's imperative that you free enough space before restore your backup.

Right ok !!
Started to compress my c drive
Don't know if that's a good start or no!
It started at 8am
But says 4days 15hours
:(
I deleted at much as I could reguarding unused items software ect
And have done a disk clean up!
Any more I can do ???

I freed up more space and didn't work so I took it to apple and they replaced the handset

Great. But just so you know, make space in your computer if you can, specially if you are using your computer to backup sync stuff to your iPhone. 2gb of free space in a computer restoring backup files??? It will work with a bit of luck and a lot of waisting of time. Glad that Apple awesomely solve your issue.

Yeah defo the faulty handset was a replacement Xmas eve so I have a brand new one but it was due for an update anyways so I upgraded str8 after I picked up my new handset :)
