iPhone locked in OS5

Hello all, first post here, and I need some major help:

I have an iphone
4 jailbroken that I had stolen and recovered, but the perps apparently erased
everything and reset it. I saw the recovery screen and tried everything I could
to get out of it, nothing worked. So I updated it to IOS5, and then went thru
the recovery instructions forgetting that it is still locked to a phone company
in Korea (KT). Now i cant continue with the recovery, as I dont have the
original sim card and I am stuck on IOS5, does this mean im royally screwed till
something gets cracked in the future! Yes, I am a dumbass for trying crap before
posting / doing more research, i already admit that!

Don't think you can really do much yourself, perhaps a visit to a genus bar at apple...
