iPhone ATT --> iPhone Verizon

Got a loaded question for the group. Someone is upgrading their iPhone 3gs to a 4s. She is giving me her old 3gs. It has a cracked screen, and I plan on replacing that part.

My goal is to unlock it and switch it to Verizon. And take it a step further if possible. I want to use one phone plan I have on an existing Verizon corporate account. I administer 80 Blackberries, and would love to test the iPhone using one of the accounts. So I am wondering if anyone has
1) Unlocked a Att iphone 3gs
2) Moved it to Verizon
3) Made it work on another account.

A 3GS cannot be unlocked to work on Verizon. The 3GS is a GSM phone... and Verizon is a CDMA carrier.

I am not surprised to find it cannot be ported to Verizon. Maybe I will end up with a fancy iPod touch and not worry about the phone portion. I could use it for accessing public wireless too I imagine.
