The New York Times and many other Internet news sources are reporting that the iPhone alarm glitch has not been fixed by the arrival of January 3rd. Although Apple told customers that the bug, which has somehow stopped single-set alarms from sounding on the iPhone since the turn of the year, would automatically correct itself on January 3rd, it seems that this has not in fact been the case. The New York Times says that it has had many angry iPhone owners writing in to complain that they had overslept this morning when the promised automatic fix failed to occur, with stories of disgruntled iPhone owners missing flights, failing to get up in time for their first day back at work, or even missing taking their kids to school.

So far Apple has not made any further comment on the matter, so general advice for now would have to be, don’t trust that your alarm will wake you up until we know for sure that the bug is fixed! Or, get yourself another alarm app such as Atomic Clock.

Yesterday the 3rd the alarm was not working, but today the 4th it is working well. I have checked the Atomic clock app, well $24? Wow, the most expensive app around and just for a clock? No thanks.

Good to know, thanks, hopefully it will start working in the rest of the world too.
