MacRumors reports that according to Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White, Apple’s forthcoming three new iPhones will still be available to pre-order in September, but White says that the flagship 5.8-inch OLED model will not ship for several weeks after that, but should be available by the December holiday period.

White says that the reason for the delay is “challenges around the 3D sensing technology.”

White, who is currently in Taiwan on a fact-finding mission with sources in Apple’s supply chain, said that his information came from a “smartphone contact” who is “diligently following the supply chain data points” about the iPhone 8, lending credence to the accuracy of the information.

Also, this new information gathered by White in Taiwan supports other recent information from Barclays analysts who said that all iPhones, including the OLED iPhone 8, are still on schedule to launch in September, but that most of the stock will not be available until later in the year.
