iPhone 5 Unlocked but..........

I bought an iPhone 5 a year ago and all is well. It is unlocked and works with T-Mobile (GSM).

Speaking with Apple support the other day I was told the phone was locked to Verizon (CDMA).

Anybody know how that is even possible?

Verizon iphones can have the GSM Part of the iphone unlocked but have the CDMA locked to Verizon.

The Verizon 5 phone is factory unlocked. You don't need to do anything to use a different SIM /carrier.
