Iphone 5 screen replacement IOS problem

I replaced my screen on my Iphone 5 and the new screen stays black and when charging vibrate/beep sound every few seconds. My old screen still worked just cracked. I have swapped back and forth and old screen still works but new one wont. Is there any issues with different screens and what IOS you are running on the phone. Maybe my new screen is older and wont work with new IOS ???
