iPhone 5 not working with harmon kardon drive+play.

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum, I have a problem where my harmon kardon drive +play system is not working with my iPhone 5. I also have the apple lightning to 30pin adapter but it continues to say iPod disconnected. I have also tried using my wife's iPhone 4S and the same fault happens. Is this a compatibility issue?
Any help appreciated.
