I've been asked to swap my iPhone 4s for a galaxy s3 not sure if this is a good idea, I've used the galaxy s2 didn't like it, is the s3 a lot better?

Do what you feel is best, obviously as this is an iPhone forum the choices here would be to stick with it.
Plus think of all the money you have spent on the apps.

Good point

Only phone I'd trade for as of right now is droid razor Maxx. I'm waiting to see what apple is offering with the iphone5, if they step up and give us some competitive features the I'm gonna get it, if not I'm getting the razor Maxx.

That Motorola seems as a good choice it has a huge battery

I just came from android. I was a firm believer that android was the way to go. But then it started getting to me that every month a new phone was out and the support went with the new phones. You kinda get left behind.
I had bought my wife an iPhone back in December. It's much easier for her and I started to play with it. Well I gave it a try for myself and got a 4s. iOS is sooooo much smoother. The phone is rock solid. Feels like its built like a tank. I love it. The androids always felt so plasticky.
Also no "force closing " of apps.
Do I miss the larger screen. No I don't. I thought I would but this phone is real nice. Do yourself a favor stick with a phone that is built right and has a great OS. Stay with iphone( never ever thought I would say that).

Lol, that is funny, most droid guys are diehards. I'm a diehard apple guy when it comes to phones, just want a bigger screen and better battery so I don't have to carry a mophie. But I refuse to pay $2k for a Mac that has a i7 when I can get a nice i7 with extras pc for $700. So I guess I'm not really a true diehard haha

I don't know if you agreed to the swap or not but I recently upgraded my iPhone 4s to a Samsung Galaxy S III and just returned it today. I had it for a whopping 2 days. It's not that the phone was a bad phone; I was just unfamiliar with the Android Operating System and I find that my iPhone works better for me. This may or may not be the case for you. Before you agree to anything, go into a store and use the display model of the Samsung Galaxy S III and see what you think.

The screen on the Galaxy S III is nice but being a female, it just felt huge in my hands. Again this is my experience with this phone. I like to hold my phone and scroll while reading text with the same hand. I was unable to do that with the Galaxy S III. I had to hold the phone in one hand and scroll with another.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is lightning fast and I never felt a lag in the operating system. On the other hand, I never did with my iPhone either.

Battery life for me in the time that I had it was pretty comparable to my iPhone 4s.

Siri is much better on the iPhone 4s than the Galaxy S III's S-Voice.

They both are really good phones. It just comes down to what you really want and what operating system you prefer. I did ask the sales rep at the store if it was common for folks to want to try a new operating system and they said it was. However, they said that iPhone users have a more difficult time adapting to the Android system than the Android users adapting to the iPhone operating system. Like they said that was in their experience.

Again my recommendation would be to go into a store and try the phone out. See how it fits in your hand and see what you like and dislike about the phone. Good luck.
