Hi there,
I was given an old iphone 3g, it has no sim card and is currently locked. When I turn it on it says iphone is disabled connect to itunes No sim card installed. The only function I can do is call emergency number. I can't even see what applications is on this phone.

How can I unlock this phone so I can use a different carrier's sim card.

what carrier is it locked to? what you need to do is exactly as it says, insert a sim and plug it into itunes and see what it says

I believe it was AT&T, I just put in an active sim card but now it ask for a passcode. my friend who gave me the iphone hasn't used this phone for over a year or so does not remember what the passcode was and he doesn't have the computer that was used to initially set it up.
Now the question would be how to reset the passcode?

Use a Gevey Sim to make the iPhone open line to all cellular networks As for the forgotten passcode, why don't you try to completely reset the iPhone so that you'll gain access to it? Although the apps might have to go if you do that :/

Connect your phone to iTunes on your computer and click restore to restore your phone to factory setting.
