TUAW has a cool video on the site today from AppleRumors Italia, which shows a side-by-side comparison of iOS 5 running on an iPhone 3GS and an iPhone 4. It’s actually fascinating how little difference there is in performance between the two phones, with the iPhone 3GS only occasionally lagging behind its younger brother when asked to perform a more heavy duty task, such as loading a packed web page. And in some instances, it actually looks as though the iPhone 3Gs is faster! As TUAW notes, the main difference is the lack of certain features in the iPhone 3GS, such as HDR and photo editing, but for most people that shouldn’t be too much of a problem, especially considering that at one point there were even some rumours floating around that the iPhone 3GS might not be able to run iOS 5 at all. Certainly worth a look anyway, even with the slightly strange backing music that sounds a bit like disco bagpipes!
