Install ringtones right from iphone

Is it possible? Such a pain connecting to the computer every time I want to add ringtones, let alone going through the hideous itunes.

Ya install anyring from Cydia and I think you can get it from the App Store now to.

I think you'll still need to connect to itunes with "Anyring" but it is in the app store. I'm also looking to make ringtones without needing to sync/connect to itunes.

There are two versions of AnyRing, the Cydia version lets you make a ringtone directly on your device from any song you have in your iPod. The app store version generates a ringtone for you and then you have to sync it over with iTunes. The Cydia version is great, I have been using it for years.

I have a few ringtone apps from app store, saving is easy but extracting them and then sync back to iphone is painful.

Would be very nice if there's something that lets you navigate to the file folder containing musix/tones and tap 'import to ringtones'. like how you can set wallpaper right from photos.

With AnyRing(Cydia) there's no need to extract or import anything, you set the ringtone right from the app.

just use itools pick any mp3 and it converts and downloads to phone in seconds

Anything for us stock users though? That's really the ONLY reason I would want to jailbreak. Well that & maybe flash if it's available....

Nope. Apple does not allow apps to access system files. The only way to create and set ringtones right from the device itself is to use a 3rd party app. Any stock app you're going to need to manually import the file.
