I'm a rookie to jailbreaking, but willing to learn

Hi guys, I have no experience what so ever. I've wasted a lot of time trying different things I've seen on Youtube. I've tried to jailbreak my phone twice now without any luck.

I have a iphone 3gs with version 4.1 on it. I was using limera1n and got stuck in recovery mode. Nothing seems to work for me. And now i cant even use my phone.

Are you sure it's recovery mode and not DFU? Recovery has a picture of a USB cable pointing to an iTunes logo. DFU is a black screen.

Are you getting any error codes from iTunes when trying to restore...?
