iCloud issues

Hiya, I currently have an iPhone 5 & I've just brought a new iPhone 5s! I've backed up my old phone to iCloud & put my sim in my new phone - why can't I retrieve all my stuff from my old phone to my new one! Help!!!!

I've never used iCloud backup myself but I found this Apple support page that may help. If you need help restoring an iCloud backup - Apple Support

Until recently I've been leery of anything to do with the cloud because I don't understand it. Based on the previous conversation (above) it appears I should be using it to backup my iPhone since it's where I do most of my online activity. Is this recommended? Any tips I should be aware of? Thanks in advance....

You can backup using either iCloud or iTunes, whichever you prefer. It's also possible to use both.

Since iCloud has arrived I find it so much better to back my phone up via the cloud :0) ITunes takes too long in my eyes. iCloud all the way!!!! X
