I see that the iCloud is available today, and I'd like to upgrade (free it says) to the IOS verions 5. How do I do this? I might add that I have a PC at home - not a Mac, if that makes any difference.

Umm.....one may want to wait a few days before downloading the IOS 5. It seems that the Apple servers can't handle the demand and it's leaving iPhones with blank screens.

As another has posted, you do it through iTunes, but make sure you have "backed up" your current iPhone BEFORE the update to version 5. You'll need that to get all your data back after the update!! Write back and tell us how it went.
I upgraded to iOS5 on my iPhone4, and all seems to be working fine. However, the process didn't go exactly as I expected. Per the caution prompt, I first did a backup, then started the download. I seem to recall that, with prior upgrades, after the new version had downloaded it did an "install". With the upgrade to 5, after the download it did a "restore". I thought something had gone wrong, but I let it run to completion and the upgrade concluded normally with 5 installed.

I have started the iCloud backup and cancel it, it took too long, it is quicker to do it through my PC.
