How to jailbreak iphone4

I would like to jailbreak my phone but know how to do it. Can some one help me with this? I just got my iPhone about 3 weeks again and I have verizon if that matters or not. And the phone has 4.2.8. Also do I do need to upgrade this?

use that, it has windows and mac tutorial to jailbreak untethered 4.2.8

4.2.8 is the latest firmware so no you dont need to upgrade unless your not on 4.2.8 already

Thanks I will give this a try this weekend. What does it do I don't know or seen a jailbreak phone or iPod?

I am also interested in a jailbreak for VZW iP4. I am running 4.2.8 and I am using a macbook (snow leopard). I have the latest version on itunes, so I was wondering if I need to downgrade itunes or can i use the one that is current to date (7/3/11)? also, i noted that some of the replies to the link you listed were having trouble, (perhaps because of the version of itunes?)

The jailbreak climate changes so quickly, I was just wondering if anyone can confirm using this method and software recently....
