How long will i be able to use my 3GS?

Is 6.1.3 the last update this phone will get? If so i am definitely going to get another phone. (because if i stick with it i wont be able to update apps or anything right?)

From the looks of things most likely. Unless iOS 7 isn't introducing anything groundbreaking that requires hardware like iOS 6, iOS 6.1.3 would most likely be the end of the 3GS and possibly the 4 as well.

I really can't see them cutting off support from 2 phones at the same time. It'd shock me of Apple quit supporting the iPhone 4 this time around.

iOS 6 will still be supported by updates in terms of apps in the long run for quite some time into iOS 7's release and will probably be the minimum requirement as is iOS 5 is now for 95% of AppStore apps.
