How do i use this accessory for iPHONE4????

A friend gave this to me he said its a ir transmitter that I plug into my headphone jack so I can use my iPhone as a remote. but he doesn't know what app to use with this ir transmitter????
Does any one know what app I can use with this ???

I'm not sure it has no marking on it

it looks like that thing share the audio output into 2, so let's say instead of connection 1 earphone cord to the phone, you will be able to connect 2 earphone to the iPhone. Unless one output is for Audio and the second one is a mic input.
