I have some old antique radios that I'd like to make into an iPhone dock.
I understand that I can buy a simple connector with audio cables on it. I am looking for a bit more than the simple setup.
I've been looking for a prefab kit that also includes an IR remote sender/receiver to operate the iPod functions, and maybe can be expanded to pushbuttons (To control volume, skip etc) which I can mount on the cabinet.
Ideally, I would remove the old original radio chassis, make it presentable for an iPod radio... then mount the dock plug, the IR receiver and the pushbuttons to the cabinet, then add my own stereo amp and speakers.
Does anyone know if such a DIY kit exists?
