How do I get to the music controls through the multitask area I have an iPhone 5 ios 9.3.2

By multi-tasking area do you mean the app switcher or the control centre?

You can bring up the music controls from any screen on the iPhone. Swipe up from the bottom of any screen to bring up the control centre. The music controls are at the bottom of the control centre.

Oh ya lmao im retarded thanks man. But it doesnt play the music when I push play nothing happens. I must have to have been listening to music recently for it to work?

Yes, you first have to go to the music app and start playing music. You can then use the controls I mentioned to control the playback for the remainder of the time you're playing music.
