hi there...i just got an iphone 4 16g yesterday after a 2 month long hunt for one wanted the 32 but wasnt in stock and didnt want to wait...anyway i would like to jailbreak my phone what is the first step? i read somewhere you have to save your main data before hand and that the recent jailbreak doesnt work or something...im sure you guys are up to date and know what you are doing so please help a nub out thx

What firmware is your iPhone running?

4.0.1 = go to http:\\jailbreakme.com from your iPhone and follow the prompts. To back your iPhone up all you need to do is sync it with iTunes.

4.0.2 = No jailbreak. You will have to wait until 4.1 is hacked by the DebTeam.

version 4.0.2 (8A400) damn how long do you expect the process to take for the jailbreak to come out?

If your on firmware 4.0.1 just go to jailbreakme.com. If not you'll just havetoo wait until 4.1 comes out. Here is a great place to ask questions about jailbreaking.
