Hi welcome to the forum :) that is unfortunate about itunes not working for you....

I had the same problem last year when i got the iPhone 4 when it came out anyway here is the instructions i used to get mine to work:-

As hinted in the other replies, the apple support software is out of whack. Use the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then use your control panel add/remove programs to remove the Apple updater, support software, and quickTime (basically anything with Apple in the name). The iTunes installer will put them all back.
Run a good quality registry cleaner for good measure to clean up any mess left behind. Now re-install iTunes with the same installer you started with.
I guess the iTunes installer could have used a bit more testing to detect and fix this. :) Anyhow this procedure fixed this problem for me.

This fixed my 127 error.

I used ccleaner for the registry cleaning it's free and it does quite a good job of cleaning the registry.

Please let me know if this has sorted out your problem out aswell :)

Hope this helps
