Another great heads-up from Pocket Gamer today, who have spotted that Konami has slashed the price of Silent Hill: The Escape in the App Store, to $0.99. As anyone who has ever played a Silent Hill game will attest, Silent Hill really is one of the most genuinely frightening and unsettling gaming series of all time (Pyramid Head still gives me nightmares after Silent Hill 2!), so you know this app will fully live up to the scary billing!

Silent Hill: Escape, developed specifically for the iPhone, is a first-person, 3D-shooter survival horror game in which players must navigate their way through various grim locations, ranging from an abandoned hospital (with the famous Silent Hill scary nurses!) to a deserted subway. The player’s flashlight plays a big part in the game, as its battery slowly runs down during gameplay, limiting your vision and upping the panic factor as you search for a key to escape the monster-infested labyrinth. Players also get to carry a gun for protection though, so they’re not entirely at the mercy of the darkness. The game cost $7.99 when it was first released last year, so $0.99 is quite a bargain.

You can download Silent Hill: The Escape for $0.99 here, but unfortunately the special price only applies to the US store. Europeans will still have to pay £1.19/€1.59.

Good question, I would think it's probably a bit strong for 8-10, they usually are quite scary games. Here's a link to the Konami website where it says that the minimum age for the game is 11 years old:
