If you loved last year’s unusual live-action horror game, Hysteria Project, get ready to scare yourself silly all over again, ‘cause BulkyPix has just announced that Hysteria Project 2 will be released to the App Store on January 27th for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

For those unfamiliar with the first game, Hysteria Project 2 appears to be very much more of the same, although possibly even better. As with the first game, Hysteria Project 2 is an interactive movie that is also a 360° live-action, choose-your-own adventure survival-horror game, with a Hitchcock vibe. The new game continues from the end of the first instalment, in the grip of hysteria and mystery that you, the game’s protagonist, must uncover, or die trying. Literally!

You wake on a hospital bed, hazy and unable to remember what just happened to you. As you come to, you find that you’ve got a fresh tattoo on your arm that you don’t remember getting. Your thoughts are interrupted by the sound of crashing metal that gets nearer and nearer, until you make out a silhouette looming towards you out of the gloom. Yep, that scary dude that’s nearly as frightening as Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2 (shudder) is back, and he’s after you! Again.

The gameplay involves following the video clips in the entirely filmed adventure, keeping a sharp eye on what’s going on around you, and most importantly of all, making the right choices at the right time, for fear of suffering the deadly consequences. Here’s Vincent Dondaine, COO of BulkyPix, talking about the game:

"Hysteria Project 2 offers a terrific, suspenseful action experience like no other. The set-pieces are so potent, they can galvanize (and frighten) even a gamer who's seen them before and add much to the excitement. You'll love it!"
