Flipping the phone and getting a nuisance box or it won’t flip at all

Sometimes when I turn my phone to the side to go horizontal to read... the page I want to read only fills half the screen to the right


The left side is occupied by a box with several options unrelated to the article


When I tried to delete the box there was no option. I was stuck reading half a screen

Sometimes when I flip the phone the article remains vertical

Can I delete the box or prevent it from appearing?

Why do some screens flip and others don’t?
Is it a phone or search engine issue?

Or was it the intent of the Designer?

You don’t say which App you are using when this happens, but if it is Safari, try tapping the Bookmarks icon in dark blue in top left.

I did not notice the drop down bar before.
It pops up and down and I guess I missed it.
