My company voicemail comes to me in the form of email attachments (.wav). Is there a way to play them through the iPhone's headset and not broadcast via the speaker for privacy purposes?
Thanks!

So, it doesn't automatically play through the headphones when they are plugged in?

If not, all I can suggest is to get an app into which you open that .wav file, then maybe the headphones will work with that app. I've successfully used OPlayer ($2.99, USD - though there is a Free Lite version you can try). There are others, but that's what I have.

Hope this helps, somewhat.

I'm sure it would play through headphones if I plugged them in but I don't want to use headphones when playing the voicemail messages that come to me as a .wav file. I simply want to put the iPhone to my ear and listen through the headset/earpiece without the message broadcasting from the speaker. Is that possible?

I'm pretty sure it won't (can't?) work that way. The .wav file that is sent to you in e-mail, while a voice mail message, is not part of the phone system - it's part of the sound/music system. So, it will play through the speakers, just as if you are playing a piece of music thought the Music app.

So, unfortunately, you'll have to use the headphones if you want privacy. Sorry.
