End of apple and iphone ?

All apple need to do is release a larger screen iphone with ios7 that is more customisable and shares will go up again.

They need to stop sellibg pointless stuff that nobody cares about. The last apple advert was advertising a noise cancelling microphone in the iphone 5 used when.making calls. Wtf lol most phones have this feature but dont bother to mention it. Apple are scraping the barrel sometimes

I'm inclined to agree that the public's view of the iPhone 5 has created a bit of panic w/ Apple's stock price. However, that "panic" doesn't show in lack of sales or new activations w/ the iPhone 5. We're seeing record sales and activations of the iPhone 5 over the previous 4S and 4 releases. What affects stock prices?.... I have no clue. I'm not a stock broker. Am I concerned w/ Apple's stock price? Hell no! Do I hope they continue to make iPhones? Absolutely!

I agree totally the iPhone 5 was very disappointing it didn't have a wow factor then the sewing of Samsung didnt help neither people are pretty much saying gs3 is a better phone apple have to come correct now since the other companies are getting better

See I had the S 3 and within 24 hours I had to have a battery pull with no additional apps other than what it came with. I was a die hard android user for YEARS flashing ROMs and rooting. When I came over to apple I had a 4s. The performance and fluidity of apple is astonishing. I think the stock issue is A) not much difference in appearance for the 4S so why bother switching. B) they are already talking 5S so why go 5 when they can get a 5S in a few months?

That's what I think. With the Samsung they really advertised well and I won't lie it convinced me to get it. Yes the bigger screen, the file sharing. But when I had them side by side. Other than screen size there was no comparison and I returned it for the iP5.

And with that I am done

Only thing i dont like on ios is, when you take iphone 2g or 5. Menu and everything else is pretty much the same. They can change it a little bit, it should not impact battery life lol

I think the "1 hand thumb operated" RULE from Jobs and Cook will be a problem for Apple.
I mean how much longer can they make the screen with the same width before the design looks silly?
And the lightning cable and the requirement to set up iTunes all are impediments.
Apple has great industrial design, maybe they should make a 5" Android phone?

These two graphs are showing completely different things. The Apple graph is tracking share price and the Samsung graph appears to be tracking the number of shares traded on a daily basis. Do you have an equivalent share price graph for Samsung?

You're correct, scifan! The Samsung chart is depicting # of trades... not stock price. Regardless... I'm not sure what Samsung's stock price has to do w/ this discussion. The only logical reason I can see is, "OMG!! Apple's prices are dropping... and Samsung's are going up. Yay for Samsung..." Who cares!!!

IMO, stock price only matters if you actually own stock in that company. It has absolutely no bearing on whether or not I'm going to buy their products. Just because Apple's stock price is going down and Samsung's is going up DOES NOT mean we should freak out and buy Samsung products. Don't get me wrong though... Samsung has very nice products. And I'm in no way a Samsung hater... more an iPhone lover if you will.

Having used both phones, I am still going with Apple. It's not the phone, it's what you can buy to put in the phone that's important to me. The fact that I know instantly how to use it, that the 700+ apps I have bought can go on every device in this household.

Why do you think most developers make apps for Apple first then the multitude of android etc...

It's a matter of choice and no-one will win this argument. Apple or Android? Who cares? Nokia, HTC, etc...

I don't really understand stocks and shares and make no apology for my ignorance. So all the media hype over the Apple share price and market value means nothing to me. It's true that I wasn't impressed by the iPhone 5, and the iPad Mini's lack of a retina display put me off buying that too, but I absolutely love my iPhone4S and I wouldn't swap it for a plasticky Samsung phone. If Samsung sell more phones around the world, so what? It doesn't affect me. Apple make products; if I like them I will buy them, if I don't like them, I won't. I don't own shares in Apple, so the share price is irrelevant to me.

However, if the disappointing stock performance - and media Apple bashing - makes Apple themselves up their game and strive to make the next iPhone a really impressive improvement, then I'm all for it. As no company can rest on it's laurels, look at Microsoft! Sometimes big companies get complacent and need a kick up the arse from time to time. But it's not the end of Apple - or the iPhone - by any means. The iPhone is cool and it's the best - and easiest to use - phone that I have ever owned. So let's see what the iPhone 5S brings us later on this year...
